This applied workshop introduces students to systemic tracking of urban resource flows. Participants learn to map local building materials, infrastructure waste, and underutilized space metrics, creating an open-source visual baseline of linear inefficiencies within our urban ecosystems.

Centered on landscape-scale natural assets, this module guides attendees through responsive design for ecological buffers. Teams work directly with water-retention modeling and biodiversity corridors, learning to deploy systemic natural infrastructure that mitigates localized heat and runoff risks.

This studio session transitions from macro-scale layouts to physical material prototyping, reflecting circular principles like the university’s architectural heritage initiatives RE:D – Re/Design. Students design deconstructable furniture and modular interior components using local, secondary, and renewable materials.
